I just wanted to write and thank Dr. Monroe and her staff at the Cataract & Lasik Center of Utah for giving me the gift of sight. The transformation has been nothing shy of miraculous! I have been a professional athlete for more than 10 years now and my O.D. told me I could not wear contacts anymore because of complications. Wearing glasses and performing in all the sports that I enjoy became very challenging and encumbered my ability to provide a livelihood for my family. That is why I researched Lasik surgery like my life depended on it, because it did. After months of research it came down to one name; Dr. Monroe. No one has better technology with more experience than Dr. Monroe. I was not an easy patient with every question and concern in the book. Because of our personal experience with the Cataract & Lasik Center of Utah, we knew we could be confident in choosing them to perform our LASIK eye surgery. From our very first appointment, we felt comfortable with our decision. The office staff and each provider were very helpful and informative. The tests and procedures were explained in detail as well as how the procedure would improve our vision. I had my LASIK surgery in 2001. I was very nearsighted and had a bad astigmatism in my right eye. I had to have follow up surgery on both eyes, in order to have them completely corrected. After the 2nd surgery I was able to see. My vision was 20/20. It is great to wake up in the middle of the night and not stumble around. I had worn contact lenses for 33 years before my LASIK surgery. What a blessing to go outdoors and not have to continually take out a contact and clean it because of dirt or other particles that have gotten in my eye. No more pain or crying because something in your eye is causing pain because of your contact. The staff was professional, helpful, and kind. My four children also had LASIK surgery. They all love their results. I would recommend this surgery to anyone!

I had my LASIK surgery in the summer of 2000 and have loved it ever since! One of the first things I did to enjoy my new vision was to go water skiing. It was so nice to not get water on my glasses or worry about losing a contact lens and yet see clearly. I also attended a hockey game and could see better than my friends even with their contact lenses.

I obviously take my own eyesight very seriously as "eyes" are my career. I have no regrets and have nearly forgotten that I ever wore glasses or contacts for over 15 years! The surgeon and team treated me great and I can't imagine an easier surgical procedure or one with a quicker recovery time. I still have 20/15 vision seven years later! I love my vision.

I had LASIK about 6 years ago. I wished I had been braver to have it before that. It is so nice to wake up and be able to see the clock and the TV clearly. The procedure was a piece of cake and only a few hours of discomfort. After I slept a couple of hours, I went Christmas shopping with my daughters. I think they were sick of me saying "look how beautiful everything looks." I had modified mono-vision and just this year I have had to start wearing reading glasses. So I have had 5 years of glasses free. I love it so much and wish that everyone could have this wonderful experience. That staff was so caring and made sure I was comfortable. I wanted to get LASIK performed because contacts irritated my eyes and I didn't like wearing my glasses while playing sports or going out. Now that I have had the LASIK procedure, I can see the ball clearly, and I don't have to worry about breaking my glasses. When I go out at night, I can look my best without having to squint to see things. I also like being able to wear regular sunglasses when it's nice out, instead of paying to get special prescription ones made. Several other doctors I talked with wanted to do the surgery on the same day that I saw them but I felt pressured. The Cataract and Lasik Institute of Utah was patient and answered all my questions before they scheduled a surgery date. I even called them back a couple of times before my LASIK to ask more!
