At first I was skeptical about PRK, but I am very happy with the results. I went from not being able to see the big 'E' to reading the 20/20 line off the chart!

All the employees at LaserVue made me feel very comfortable and were able to answer all my questions throughout the whole procedure. I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to improve my vision because it was really hard at my age to have such horrible vision. The surgery was easy and it was the two days after that I really struggled with; however, it was all worth it. I would be willing to go through all of it over again to get to where I am. If you get PRK be prepared to have fluctuating vision for a least a week. It’s scary at first to see your vision fade in and out, but slowly it will stabilize and become clear.

Don’t expect perfect results right away and trust all the doctors’ advice. Take care of your eyes—I am very thankful for mine thanks to Dr. Bansal and his staff.

I had decided to get eye surgery because I got tired of waking up and not being able to see my alarm clock. Quite honestly, it became a little depressing being so blind all the time. So I came to LaserVue Eye center to get my eyes fixed. I have had a wonderful experience since I had LASIK. I love the fact that I can read everything clearly far and near and not have to put glasses on all the time.

It is a true blessing. Another great thing was that I had night blindness every time I drove at night. I have worn glasses since the fourth grade and contact lenses since high school — more than 25 years! When I started work as a flight attendant 12 years ago, I had to switch from RGP lenses to soft lenses, then to glasses because of constant problems with dryness and irritated eyes. Since my laser surgery, dryness and irritation are no longer a problem, at work in flight or at home on the ground!

In addition, I have better than 20/20 vision for the first time in my life. While I liked the way I looked with contacts, they were a big hassle. Glasses were less attractive, prone to smudging & scratches. Plus I couldn't justify prescription sunglasses, diving mask, and ski goggles. I was resigned to life being a bit blurry at times, and always in my peripheral vision. I'd heard about LASIK, but naturally had some trepidations. Finally I found myself with a little extra money & decided to look into it. I did research online, talked to people who'd done it and went in for a consulation at LaserVue. They were so helpful, honest, and straightforward, but most importantly, it became increasingly clear that they were both extremely competent and in possession of the best equipment.

As for the procedure itself, I'll be honest, it was a bit uncomfortable and weird. My LASIK procedure was in September of 1999 and it has been the most liberating event for me. My vision without glasses was count fingers at three feet (I could not even read the big "E" on the chart) before LASIK. On the day of the surgery, everyone was so supportive, and during the procedure, Dr. Bansal would tell me what was happening so I knew where to look and what to expect. The actual laser time was just seconds per eye....INCREDIBLE! When I sat up after, I could actually see the faces in the room with me and read the clock on the wall! The very next day I was able to read the 20/20 line on the chart! I was wearing bifocals prior to my procedure; so I knew that reading glasses would be needed afterwards. But they make fun readers and you do not need them all the time. It truly is amazing to drive, watch a movie, and see the alarm clock all without glasses!

When I came in for my consultation, I was told I was not a candidate for LASIK surgery. I have been wearing glasses since I was four years old. I did qualify for PRK. They told me I would have a longer and more painful recovery time. I was determined not to wear thick lenses or contacts ever again. I came in on a Monday afternoon, less than 30 minutes I was walking out the door seeing perfectly. On day two, I woke up in the night because I felt I had a dog hair in my eye.
