Precautions When Considering LASIK Surgery

Every patient is different and every patient has different concerns. But, there are some conditions and certain eye diseases that would preclude you from undergoing LASIK. In addition, some patients may experience different effects and have different safety concerns. You should always consult with your doctor if you have a history of any of the following:
  • Herpes simplex or shingles involving the eye area.
  • Glaucoma, glaucoma suspect, or ocular hypertension.
  • Eye diseases, such as uveitis/iritis (inflammations of the eye).
  • Eye injuries or previous eye surgeries.
  • Keratoconus.
