There are many ways to correct imperfect vision. Many people opt for glasses and others for contact lenses. Both of these options are effective ways to correct less than perfect vision but both require daily effort be it putting on and taking off glasses or putting in contacts every day. LASIK laser eye surgery is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that reduces and in most cases eliminates the dependency on vision assisted appliances such as glasses and contact lenses. LASIK permanently alters the shape of the cornea using an excimer laser. Traditional LASIK surgery involves your eye surgeon cutting a flap in the cornea allowing the laser to access the stroma. There are LASIK techniques that do not involve cutting.
